Don José Bono is a certainly interesting politician. President of Castilla La Mancha for six consecutive terms, he was close to becoming the general secretary of the PSOE but, I don't know if for the good or the misfortune of Spain , José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero beat him. If Bono were just another socialist politician, atheist, agnostic or non-practicing Catholic, his statements would be just one more among many. In fact, his personal friendship with senior leaders of the Catholic Church is known, some of whom have declared that he is a great politician.
Bono's Catholic career is, to say the least, peculiar.
